So here is the dl on the band. Billie and Mike
met in their elementry school cafeteria in the fifth grade. They soon started the band Sweet Children and practiced in Billie's
living room. Soon after joining the Gilman street punk nation in Berkley they came out with their first album, 39/Smooth with
their drummer John Kriftmeyer (aka Al Sobrante). Befroe the album came out the band decided to change their name from Sweet
Children to Green Day (what we know know them as) after a song on the album about being stoned all day long.
After touring
in a beat up van for a while John decided to leave the band.... but didn't tell any one. billie found out through a friend
about John so to return the favor Billie and Mike didn't tell john that he was being replaced by the former lookouts drummer
Tre Cool.
Collectivly the guys have
made 8 albums together with drummer Tre (9 if you count 39/Smooth but that wasn't with Tre) That includes a Greatest hits
album.
